Communications and Work Experience

First Polymer Training Skillnet have devised this 5 day programme to facilitate the completion of mandatory FETAC modules needed in order to complete our full certificate in Injection Moulding, Blow Moulding or Extrusion.
The FETAC assignment process as contained in the module descriptor includes a variety of tasks and projects. These will be addressed as follows in the context of this programme.
Day 1 - 3 -Communications Module.
Module 1. Verbal communications.
Module 2. Written communications.
Module 3. Non-verbal communications.
Module 4. Formal presentations.
Day 4 - 5 - Work Experience Module
Module 1. Understanding work.
Module 2. Understanding the legal aspects of the work environment.
Module 3. Essential skills and disciplines.
Module 4. Evaluation and appraisal.
This programme is based on the APEAL element of the module descriptor. Recognition of prior learning/experience is credited.
Assignment activity.
The majority of assignment activity must by its nature be undertaken after the programme has been completed.
A detailed assignment briefing will be provided.
Each participant will complete the following two items of their assignment during the course of the programme.
1. Detailed job description pertaining to current or most recently held employment.
2. Detailed personal curriculum vitae.
All other aspects of the assignment will be completed post course and presented in written format.

*This programme is a FETAC component (minor) award, certified at Level 5 on the national framework of qualifications (www.nfq.ie ).
The assessment at the end of the programme, if successfully completed, will lead to one credit towards a major(compound) award, of which 8 credits are needed in total. Please see How to achieve a FETAC major award with FPT. Some of our programmes have assignments as part of the assessment which should be completed by the learner after the programme has finished. Full instructions, timelines and ongoing guidance will be given by the course tutor. Most assessments are completed during the programme and results will be made available to learners as soon as they have gone through our Quality Assurance procedures and final submission to FETAC.
