Maintenance-Troubleshooting Skills
Due to demand, First Polymer Training have introduced a follow-on module to the Maintenance - Electrical Module.
It is recommended but not essential that attendees will have already completed our Maintenance- Electrical Module and also our Maintenance - Hydraulic Module before attending Maintenance-Troubleshooting Skills. This course would also be beneficial to Process Technicians, Fitters, Electricians.

Course Content:

Day 1

Electrical refresh session:
Electrical Safety – Isolation, procedures for troubleshooting, lock and tag, do’s and don’ts, voltage/ current/ resistance, fault-finding

Day 2
Day 2 will be a hands-on, practical troubleshooting day with an electrical focus
- Contactors/ relays
- Voltages – 24 v DC to 400 AC
- This day will use training boards and processing equipment

Day 3
Troubleshooting (hydraulic/ pneumatic bias)
Safety
hydraulic/ pneumatic and electrical safety - eg electrics + hydraulic pump lock-out
Introduction to pneumatics and hydraulics equipment
- Directional valves
- Check valves
- Pilot valves
- Single/ Double acting cylinders
- Air/ Oil Power supply
- Air quality (accumulators and filtration)
Symbols, circuits, common faults using training boards and processing equipment
limit switches, proximity switches, reed switches.

Day 4
Revision of days 1,2,3
Equipment faults and test circuits
This day will be a hands-on practical day with troubleshooting bias
End of course Exam
